In a great alteration regarding the last balance of sales by model, the Chevrolet Tracker closed the first half of October leading the ranking, with almost 3.8 thousand units sold, compared to Fiat Strada’s 3.45 thousand sales, in second place. In sequence came the Chevrolet Onix (3 thousand), Hyundai HB20 (2.4 thousand), Hyundai Creta (close to 2.3 thousand) and VW T-Cross (2.1 thousand).
The SUVs are increasingly gaining space in the Brazilian market, but this kind of vehicle hardly appears among the three best-selling models in the country. Nonetheless, three SUVs were among the six models with higher register volume in the first half of October.
But yea-to-date, from January through October 15, the Strada consolidated its lead with 89.5 thousand units negotiated. From second to sixth place are the HB20, Onix, VW Gol, Onix Plus and Fiat Mobi. Four SUVs completed the 2022 Top 10: Tracker, T-Cross, Creta and Jeep Compass.
According to a retail sector source, who released the data per model based on a Renavam survey, light vehicle sales in the first half of October reached 65.2 thousand units. The period had only nine working days, and the daily average was 7.24 thousand units.
As its flagship Strada, Fiat kept firm in the lead, with almost 13.7 thousand units sold in the first half and 20.9% of the light vehicles commercialized in the period. General Motors is the second with 11 thousand and 17%, followed by Volkswagen (9.7 thousand and 14.8%) and Toyota (6.98 thousand and 10.7%).
Hyundai, fiercely disputing the fourth place with the Japanese brand, was fifth in the first 15 days of the month, with 5.24 thousand units and an 8% share.
