Data issued by Acea, the European vehicle manufacturers association, show a 7.9% growth in automobile sales in September over the same month last year, with 1.04 million units, compared to 972.8 thousand. The Volkswagen Group completed nine months leading sales in the region, with 2.03 million vehicles sold. Despite a 14.7% fall, the volume means a 24.3% market share.
Stellantis was the second-placed, with 1.55 million units delivered, 16.3% less than the results from January through September in 2021. The volume corresponds to an 18.9% market share.
The only manufacturer registering growth in Europe was the Hyundai Group, with 6.6%. The Korean manufacturer sold 821.5 thousand automobiles over the three quarters and attained a 9.9% share.
