Vehicle consortium business went over R$ 107 billion

Credits commercialized from January through September grew 15% compared to 2021

The Brazilian association of consortium administration companies, Abac, is celebrating good results this year. From January through September, the vehicle sector sold more than 2.27 million new quotas, equivalent to R$ 107.2 billion. The number of adhesions grew 10.2%, and the commercialized credits grew 15% compared to last year.

The number of active participants, including automobiles, light commercial vehicles and motorcycles, reached 7.35 million, 7.6% more than in September 2021. The participation of the three segments is 57.8%, 7.8% and 34.4%, respectively.

978.2 thousand members were contemplated in the first nine months of the year, 8.1% more than in the same period last year. From this total, 439.7 corresponded to light vehicles. The subsegment totalized 1.15 million adhesions up to September, a 5.5% growth. The commercialized credits, in this case, reached R$ 61.53 billion, and the average ticket in September was R$ 56.17 thousand, an 8.1% growth.

The motorcycle business exceeded R$ 15 billion, and the average ticket grew 21% to R$ 18.2 thousand. The almost 500 thousand contemplations from January through September corresponded to the potential purchase of 50.2% of the total commercialized in the internal market, reaching 982.61 units.

According to Abac, the heavy vehicles consortium, including trucks, tractors, and road and agriculture implements, was encouraged by the good news about a record grain harvest. There was a 55.5% growth in adhesions over the year, with 211 thousand new quotas sold.

The almost 30 thousand contemplations of trucks corresponded to a potential purchase of 32.6% of the internal market, totalizing 80.79 thousand units, according to data from Fenabrave. One of each three trucks licensed in the country in the period was bought through consortiums.
