Anfir, the national road implement manufacturers’ association, attributes the sector’s 10.6% sales fall in October compared to September, when 11.9 thousand and 13.3 thousand units were licensed, respectively, to the market decision to postpone purchases waiting for better conditions during the Fenatran.
Latin America’s largest transportation fair opened to the public on Monday, 11/7, at the São Paulo Expo center. According to Anfir’s president, José Carlos Spricigo, the logistics market reduced its purchases last month to take advantage of better sales conditions offered by the industry at the Fenatran.
“The number of licenses was in a positive trend, and the October result shows the businessmen should be at Fenatran looking for better opportunities”, he commented.
Year to date, 128,940 road implements have been delivered, representing a 4% reduction compared to the 134,241 sold from January through October 2021. Spricigo believes the business to be closed along the five days of Fenatran will be decisive to revert this small fall and balance the year’s sales, with the 2022 total being close to 160 thousand units commercialized internally.
Regarding 2023, Anfir’s president says the truck market should reduce by 10% due to the higher prices caused by the transition from Euro V to Euro VI, and the market of implements should be close to the numbers of 2022, from 155 thousand to 160 thousand units.
The road implements manufacturers occupy more than 13 thousand square meters at the Fenatran. “It’s the largest participation of our industry at Fenatran, both for the number of companies – 50 – and the exhibit area”, comments Spricigo.
Besides the product exhibition, the road implements manufacturers participate in a Business Roundtable with 26 importers from ten countries (Angola, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, Peru and Uruguay). The meeting is part of the program MoveBrazil, developed by Anfir in partnership with ApexBrasil.
