DAF is in its better phase in Brazil and expects to close 2022 with 7.6 thousand units sold, a record in its nine years in the country. At the Fenatran, the manufacturer exhibits the products it believes can maintain its growing sales trend in 2023, among them the XF and CF trucks with new engines meeting the Proconve P8 emission rules.
Known as MX-11, MX-13 and PX-7, the new engines are up to 8% more economical, the manufacturer ensures. The XF lineup is equipped with the 12.9-liter MX-13 engine delivering from 480 cv through 530 cv, while the 6.7-liter PX-7, with 260 cv, 290 cv or 310 cv, equips the CF 6×2 and 8×2.
According to DAF, the P8 engine made in Ponta Grossa, PR, are also more silent and has a nationalization index from 55% to 57%, similar to the previous generation.
Like other manufacturers, the brand presents its electric alternative at the fair. Right now, the 19-ton LF truck is just a probe. It has a 370 kW motor and a 280 km estimated range.
The brand growth calls attention. From January through October, with a 5.3% share, it sold 5.4 thousand units and has already almost equaled its record in the country: 5.6 thousand in 2021.
If the sales projection of 7.6 thousand trucks this year is confirmed, DAF will more than double its 2019 result: 3.2 thousand units.
