The fall sequence in the first semester still keeps down the result of the first ten months

The Acea, the association of European manufacturers, interprets the market results in October as a sign of recovery. In the period, the customer of the region – including the European Union countries, the United Kingdom and the Efta block – bought 910.7 thousand units, 14% more than the volume sold in October 2021, 798.5 thousand cars.
According to Acea’s data, after the challenge of the lack of products and low demand in the first semester, the market has shown more vigor since August, with successive highs, although still under the pre-pandemic demand. According to the association, about 290 thousand units less compared to October 2019.
The first half’s consecutive falls are responsible for the low results in the year so far. In the first ten months of 2022, the deliveries to the European market amounted to 9.18 million automobiles, a volume 7.8% lower than the registered one year ago, 9.96 million units.
Among the three largest automobile sellers in the region, the Volkswagen Group maintains the lead with a 24.6% share and 2.26 million units delivered from January through October.
Stellantis comes in second, with 18.8% of the sales and 1.7 million cars delivered. The third is the Hyundai Group, with 903.3 thousand units, 9.8% of the market.
