The first of the three electrified vehicles Ford intends to launch in 2023 is already defined. This Wednesday, 11/30, the brand showed forthe first time in São Paulo the Maverick Hybrid. The new version will be at about 120 dealerships in the first quarter next year and shall be the first hybrid pickup ever offered in the Brazilian market.
The vehicle has a 2.5 liter 164 cv gasoline engine with torque of 21.4 kgfm, combined with a 128 cv and 23.9 kgfm electric motor. Together, they deliver 193 cv, transferred to the front wheel through a e-CVT transmission.
The arrival of the hybrid will coincide with the first full year of sales of the all-wheel drive Maverick powered by the 2.0 turbo 235 cv engine. From January through October, 1,192 units of this version were licensed, with prices over R$ 241 thousand.
If the combustion version greatest appeal is sportiveness, the Hybrid offers a much lower consumption. According to Antonio Baltar, Ford’s Sales and Marketing director, the new version’s range is over 800 km.
The manufacturer did not release all the standard contents of the vehicle. It just highlighted the Ford Connect Pass connectivity system, already present in all brand’s models, the brake energy recuperation system, 18-inch wheels, seven airbags, four-wheel disk brakes and 8-inch multimedia central.
