After seven consecutive months producing more than 200 thousand units, Brazilian manufacturers shall overcome next Friday, 12/9, the total registered along 2021, 2,248,000 units. The information was released by Anfavea’s president, Márcio de Lima Leite, who celebrated this year’s numbers despite the difficulties due to parts shortage and an internal market still inferior to last year.
Among light and heavy vehicles, 215.8 thousand units were produced in November, 4.7% more than in the previous month and 4.9% over the same month in 2021 (205.7 thousand). In the first 11 months, 2,178,202 vehicles were produced, 6.9% more than in the same period last year (2.037.328 units).
Anfavea’s president remembered the segment still faces difficulties in part supply, especially semiconductors, but said that the situation is less severe than last year and the first half of 2022. About December, he said that the volume should be under the registered in 2021, when about 211 thousand units were manufactured.
“At the end of 2021, there were no collective vacations because this mechanism was used by manufacturers when the production had to be paralyzed for the lack of chips. This year will be different, and we also have the World Cup games that affect our assembly lines.
Asked about the promised provisional measure that would encourage semiconductors production in the country, Anfavea’s president lamented the time taken to publish it but did not discard it could happen in the current administration. ‘We still believe the measure will be out this December”, he said.
