The BMW’s plant in Araquari, SC, is ready to produce the new generation BMW X1. The model is arriving in the country visually refurbished, with new engines and a new entry version.
The offer now includes three versions: sDrive20i GP, sDrive20i X-Line and sDrive20i M Sport. The prices vary between R$ 296,950 and R$ 349,950. All options include the BSI scheduled maintenance program for three years or 40 thousand kilometers.
The main novelty in the lineup is the 1.5 TwinPower 156 cv and 23.4 kgfm three-cylinder engine for the entry model. The other cars carry the new generation of the 2.0 TwinPower engine with 204 cv and 30 kgfm, 12 cv more than the previous version. In all cases, the transmission is the 7-speed Steptronic.
X1’s new generation is larger than the previous: it is 4.50 meters long, 7 centimeters longer than the previous generation. The manufacturer informs that the wheelbase grew by 2 cm, increasing the internal space. The model also is 32 cm wider (from 1.82 m to 1.84 m) and 5 cm higher (from 1.59 m to 1.64 m).
The visual changes are discreet. The new X1 did not get the larger front grilles as other brand models. The more visible changes are the front bumper air intakes new design, all the lighting set and the rear bumper.
The major changes were internal. According to BMW, the interior is inspired by the iX, the brand’s 100% electric model. It calls attention the large curved two-part high-resolution screen, with a 10.2-inch instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch multimedia central display. The systems and commands can be activated by voice, touch or the i-Drive rotary central command.
