Road implement sales closed January with 11.6 thousand units delivered, at the same level as one year ago. The result had a slight 0.3% fall.
With 56% of the sales, the heavy segment inhibited a better result. Last month, the market bought 6.5 thousand trailers and semi-trailers, 2.75% less than in January 2022, when there were 6.7 thousand deliveries.
Sales of bodies on chassis grew 3.7% to 5.1 thousand, compared to 4.9 thousand last year.
Nonetheless, for Anfir, the stable performance shall be momentary. The association expects last year’s negotiations at Fenatran will improve demand in the next months.
“The sector’s commercial actions at Fenatran will show results gradually each month in the first half of the year, supporting the industry’s performance in the period”, said in a not José Carlos Spricigo, Anfir’s president.
According to the association’s leader, some indicators from sectors where the implement industry customers act seem favorable for 2023. Conab, Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento (National Food Supply Company), for example, expects the 2022/23 grain harvest to grow by 14% to 311 million tons.
And CBIC, Câmara Brasileira da Indústria de Construção (Brazilian Construction Industry Chamber), expects a 2.5% expansion of its activities.
