The only factory that will not stop is Taubaté, where is produced the Polo Track, Gol's replacement

Besides halting activities at the Anchieta plant in São Bernardo do Campo, SP, from February 22 through March 3, Volkswagen announced collective vacations in two other industrial units, São José dos Pinhais, PR, and São Carlos, SP, where it produces engines.
The only plant of the brand in the country that will not interrupt operations is Taubaté, SP, which will work normally in February with two production shifts. As this unit has been producing since December the Polo Track, which is arriving on the market to replace the just-retired Gol, Volkswagen may be prioritizing its supply to the detriment of the others.
In a note updated on Thursday, 2/9, the company stresses that “the halts were already scheduled since last year and are part of the production processes flexibilization strategy due to components supply”.
The semiconductors shortage, which has affected the world automotive industry since 2021, had its most critical period in the second half of this year and the first semester of 2022.
The plant in Paraná, which produces the T-Cross SUV, will halt operations during the same period as the ABC unit. São Carlos’ workers will begin their collective vacations on next 2/20, returning on the same day as the two other units.
