Ford must be very excited if the F-150 presales show the North American pickup commercial potential. The first 500 units of the model imported from the United States available for reservation sold out in a few minutes.
According to Ford, on February 14, when only potential customers who already own Ford vehicles could make reservations, 250 F-150s were pre-ordered in less than one hour. Two days later, presales were opened to everyone. The 250 reminiscent units sold out in 9 minutes.
“This volume represents 10% of large pickups registered in 2022”, said Marcel Bueno, Ford South America’s marketing director. All this sector’s sales refer to Ram’s three models, the only pickup brand with F-150 similar size.
Last month, the three models of Stellanti’s North American Ram had 593 units sold, according to Fenabrave – a little more than Ford’s F-150 online presales in just two days. The best-selling model was the largest, 3500, with 270 units.
Ford does not inform how many F-150 units it expects to sell in Brazil this year. It just says that new lots of the vehicle costing from R$ 470 thousand to R$ 490 thousand are scheduled for the net months, and it will also be offered at the dealerships.
