Vehicle production in Argentina grew by 30% in the first bimester of 2023. According to data released by Adefa, the association of manufacturers located in the country, 73.7 thousand units left the assembly lines in the period, compared to 56.3 last year.
In February, the production reached 46.2 thousand automobiles and light commercial vehicles, a 70.3% increase over January (27.1 thousand units) and 22.9% more than one year ago (37.6 thousand vehicles).
The neighboring country’s industry exported 35.3 thousand vehicles in the first two months of 2023, 20.4% more than the 29.3 thousand shipped in 2022. Last month’s shipments more than doubled February’s, from 11.3 thousand to 23.9 thousand.
“The main variable’s performance keeps positive, confirming the trend we anticipated months ago”, declared Martín Galdeano, Adefa’s president. “It’s a reflex of the joint work we developed sustainably with authorities and the value chain.
Bulk sales to the dealer net reached 52.2 thousand units in the first bimester, 14.3% more than the 45.5 thousand units registered one year ago. Last month, the dealerships absorbed 20 thousand units, 40.5% over January (14.2 thousand) and 24.7% more than in February 2022 (16 thousand units).
