Volkswagen revealed in an event in Hamburg, Germany, the product it prepares for the electric compact segment. The concept car named ID.2all shows the brand’s intention to make electric mobility more affordable for a larger number of consumers.

The aim is to position it as the electric family’s entry model, with a price of about 25 thousand euros, close to Vw Polo’s starting price in the European market. The ID.2all has visual similarities with the conventional combustion-engine hatchback, indeed.

“The ID.2all shows where we want to take our brand to. We want to be close to the customer and offer cutting edge technology combined to fantastic design. We are implementing the transformation in a fast pace to take electromobility to everyone”, said in a note Thomas Schäfer. Volkswagen’s CEO.

Developed on the recent evolution of the electric modular matrix (MEB), the brand reveals the future model, to be launched in 2026, will be the first one with front wheel drive, up to 450 km range and unprecedented resources as route planning for electric cars. The drive train includes a 166 kW (226 cv) motor.
