The 57th Easter Jeep Safari, which begins on Saturday, 4/1, in Moab, Utah, United States, will be the stage for the presentation of seven Jeep concept cars, including four electrified models. The totally new vehicles will be tested over the nine days of the traditional off-road event.

Jim Morrison, Jeep’s executive vice president in North America, tells the Safari assembles every year more than 20 thousand brand’s fans to drive in the most extreme off-road conditions: “It is the perfect place to exhibit our seven new concepts and get fans’ feedback about which way they want Jeep to take in the future”.

The development of the new brand’s concept range included design teams from Jeep and Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) by Mopar. “Differently from all other post-sales offers, our growing portfolio of parts and accessories tested and supported by the factory is designed and planned to face the world’s most severe trails”, ensures Mark Bosanac, Mopar North America’s service, parts and customer assistance vice president.

One of the novelties is the Magneto 3.0, the third concept of the Wrangler Magneto family, which introduced the brand into the battery electric vehicle (BEV) world. “Other three Jeep 4xe concepts show the brand’s commitment to zero-emission (Zero Emission Freedom) and also its lead in 4×4 vehicles”, says the company’s note released this Thursday, 3/30.

Jeep Magneto 3.0’s innovations include a more efficient motor with increased torque and updated software, resulting in a 20% increase in useful energy and economy. The vehicles also now have three selectable functions for challenging off-road situations:

1. Selection between two power configurations (standard: 285 cv/370 Nm – maximum: 650 cv/1220 Nm);
2. Two-stage regeneration mode enabling normal driving when off or advanced braking recovery using the electric motor when engaged;
3. Hill descent control (HDC) selectable with reduced 4×4 drive to provide real off-road one-pedal drive in heavy rock crawling.

Another electrified model is the Scrambler 392, with AccuAir pneumatic suspension kit allowing increasing the suspension high from 1.5″ to 5.5″ through a cabin control or by long-range Bluetooth with a wireless device. The model carbon-fiber engine hood has a transparent pigmented insertion to highlight the powerful 6.4l engine. Special bumpers and new fenders open more space for 40″ tires on 20″ wheels.

Two other electrified concepts are the Cherokee 4xe 1978 and the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe. Complement the seven concepts range the Grand Wagoneer Overland adventurer version, with the new Hurricane twin-turbo 3-liter engine, the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Departure and the Gladiator Rubicon Sideburn, equipped with the 2.6 liter V6 Pentastar engine.
