Scania looks for partnerships with startups

Program Inovação em Movimento will encourage companies to develop solutions offering contract possibilities

Scania has opened inscription for a startup connection program. Named Inovação em Movimento (Innovation on the Move), it was created with support from Innosciense technical consultants, and will challenge new technology companies to develop disruptive solutions in the manufacturer’s ecosystem.

“Inovação em Movimento is a call for startups from all over the country to get close to Scania. It is an opportunity to jointly develop and test their projects, solutions or technologies and possibly become Scania’s partner or supplier”, explains in a note Fabricio Babler, Scania’s Technology Information director.

This is the first Scania initiative to open opportunities for startups and will run for six to eight months. “We looked for a model that enables us to foment the entrepreneurial mindset, agility and digital transformation, improve our processes, interact with other systems and establish partnerships to help our innovation projects to prosper”, said Babler.

Scania’s proposal for the startups is focused on data analysis, real-time consume data acquisition in the environmental field and order flow management.

“The program’s strategy prioritizes to strengthen the existent business to generate operational efficiency hiring mature startups after proof of concept”, tells Maximiliano Carlomagno, Innoscience’s founder partner. “We will monitor the results based on the gain of value generated: growth of revenue, efficiency and margin, for example.”

According to Scania, the initiative promotes a real possibility for startups to close deals and become Scania partners. But it also provides networking opportunities with the management and company teams, besides access to the market, suppliers and customers to test and develop the solutions.

Enrollment is open through May 5 at the program website, where information on the challenges proposed by the manufacturers can be found.
