Daimler Truck is strengthening its presence in the United States with the launch of Rizon, a new brand offering 100% electric medium trucks. The novelty was revealed at the Advanced Clean Transportation Expo 2023, a transportation segment event in Anaheim, CA.
The new operation of the group will start in the fourth trimester of 2023 with the offer of three versions of a Class 4 and 5 model for 7 through 8 tons. The e18L, e16L and e16M have a double battery set for the L versions and a three-battery package for the M. The range should be from 120 km to 260 km with a single charge.
Besides the products, Daimler will offer AC and DC charging consultancy, telemetry services and specific financing plans. For distribution, the company firmed an exclusive contract with Velocity, a commercial-vehicle specialist net, which also will name dealers out of its operational area to cover all of the United States territory.
The Rizon trucks should meet urban retail delivery, Last Mile operations and city public services demands. They can be configured as box truck, refrigerated truck, platform and dump truck.
