The BMW dealer net in Brazil is already offering the new X5 and X6, launched globally three months ago. The X5 is offered in the versions X-Line and M Sport, with prices beginning from R$ 689.950. The X6 versions are the XDrive40i M Sport and M Competition, with prices from R$ 744,950.
Made at the Spartanburg plant, in the United States, the new models show slight visual changes. The narrower headlights and the redesigned rear end are the most noticeable. Internally, both have now the Curved Display, a cluster including the 12.3-inch information screen and a second one with 14.9-inch for the multimedia central.
Updated powertrain
The X5 hybrid plug-in drive system was revamped and includes now a 313 cv gasoline engine and a 197 cv electric motor that together can deliver up to 489 cv, 96 cv more than the previous model. The torque is 700 Nm (71.4 kgfm), 100 Nm (10.2 kgfm) higher. The transmission is the eight-speed Steptronic Sport.
The X6 engine was also improved and now can reach up to 381 cv (47 cv more) and 520 Nm (53 kgfm). Nevertheless, the X6 M Competition version maintains the same 625 cv and 750 Nm (76.5 kgfm) V8 twin-turbo engine. The models’ prices include a free three-year or 40 thousand kilomenter maintenance program.
