Even being one of the Brazilian market’s most up-to-date large pickups, the Nissan Frontier has not taken off in sales. Nissan’s vehicle is at the end of the category’s ranking.
From January to June, it was just the eighth bestseller in the segment defined by Fenabrave, which includes eleven models, although some of smaller size such as Fiat Toro, Chevrolet Montana and Renault Oroch.
Even though, the 3,878 registers in the period left the Frontier much behind its real competitors.Toyota Hilux has already overcome 21.5 thousand units, five times more, while the Chevrolet S10 reached 13.8 thousand deliveries, three times Frontier’s and Ford Ranger 8.3 thousand, twice.
The arrival of new competitors also disturbed the Argentinian-made pickup performance, such as Hilux and Ranger. Even the veteran Volkswagen Amarok, even outdated, almost took Frontier’s eighth place in the first semester, lacking behind by just 99 units.
How could the Frontier’s sales be accelerated if new style and modernness were not enough? At least part of the brand’s answer can be seen in the 2024 lineup, which has just arrived at the dealers. More exactly, a new suggested prices list.
The six Frontier versions have just small cosmetic improvements. The major attraction is the prices, which are lower than the 2023 lineup. In five versions, the reduction was from 1.1% to 1.6%.
The greatest reduction was in the A version, which went from R$ 275,490.00 to R$ 266,490.00 – a 3.5% or R$ 9.3 thousand fall.
