ZFwill supply components for Marcopolo’s Attivi, the first fully electric bus made by the manufacturer from Caxias do Sul, RS. It’s ZF’s first contract to supply electric vehicle components in the country.
The electric Attivi are already leaving the assembly line and carry ZF’s E-comp compressor made in Hanover, Germany, and the Air Spring dampers made by ZF in Argentina.
For ZF, the deal creates positive perspectives, as there is a number of municipalities around the country with goals and policies aiming to decarbonize urban mobility.
“The expectation is that the Attivi Integral production will surpass 100 units yearly, a good result considering that the electric bus fleet is still small in the country”, said Silvio Furtado, ZF South America’s vice president of Solutions for Commercial Vehicles and Industrial Technology.
ZF’s components underwent validation tests and were recalibrated for use in the bus, a 13.25 meter-long model for up to 89 passengers and a 250 km range.
