After a long time without important national launches and the end of production of some models, Renault is close to starting a new phase in the Brazilian market.
The brand revealed this Monday, 8/28, the name of the new vehicle to be made in São José dos Pinhais, PR: Kardian.
The new car, built on the also new CMF-B platform, will mark Renault’s entrance into the compact SUV segment. The official launch is confirmed for the end of October. Nonetheless, sales should start only at the beginning of next year.
According to the brand, Kardian means “strength, robustness, protection and intensity”. The manufacturers did not disclose details of the new car that should be positioned in its lineup under the Duster, Renault’s only national SUV. Despite the manufacturer still deny this, the Captur ceased to be manufactured since last year’s second half.
The Kardian should dispute consumers of vehicles like the Volkswagen T-Cross and Fiat Pulse. It will be offered in three versions, all with the new 1.0 turbo engine, also a novelty in Renault’s national products.
