Ford confirmed the launch of the Ranger Raptor in Brazil this year. The announcement was made by Daniel Justo, Ford South America’s president, at the Detroit Autoshow.
The Raptor is the sportier pickup in Ford’s lineup and will be the most powerful offered in Brazil. It has off-road capability, and the 3.0 V6 gasoline engine has 400 cv and 59.5 kgfm.
The new-generation versions XLS, XLT and Limited are equipped with a 3.0 V6 turbodiesel with 250 cv and 61.2 kgfm. The transmission is a 10-speed automatic.
Top of the line, the Raptor should carry all resources and equipment currently available in the Limited. Nonetheless, it carries the
Performance signature that differentiates the model as a sports model. The suspension is higher, and the active Fox dampers adapt to the road surface variations.
“The Ranger Raptor is made for those wanting the most advanced available all-terrain performance.
Like the other new Ranger models, it arrives to redefine the category standards”, said the executive.
The price was not disclosed, but the specialized press estimates it will be no less than R$ 400 thousand.
