Automobile and light commercial vehicle sales reached 80.4 thousand units in the first fortnight of September. The result is 9.8% better than in the first fifteen days of August and 9.5% higher than in the same period last year.
After eight and a half months this year, the internal market purchased 1.42 million vehicles, increasing by 10.8%.
Fiat leads the brand’s ranking once more. It ended the fortnight with nearly 18.4 thousand deliveries, 14.2% more than last month. Year-to-date, the brand already overcame 315 thousand vehicles sold, an 11.6% increase, slightly over the market’s average.
Second in the ranking in the same period, Volkswagen is close behind Fiat with 12.6 thousand registers in the fortnight, surpassing General Motors (10.7 thousand) and Toyota (7.9 thousand). The positions have been the same over 2023.
A good part of Fiat’s performance, as usual over the last three years, is due to the Strada. The compact pickup led sales in the fortnight with 4.8 thousand units, more than 25% of Fiat’s total sales.
The ranking of the ten bestselling vehicles in September also includes the Volkswagen Polo (4 thousand units), Hyundai HB20 (3 thousand), Fiat Mobi (2.8 thousand), Chevrolet Onix Plus (2.6 thousand), Chevrolet Onix (2.5 thousand), HB20 Sedan (2.5 thousand and Honda HR-V (2.2 thousand).
