A Rampage pickup marked 1.5 million vehicles produced in Stellantis’ plant in Goiana, PE. The unit, inaugurated in 2015, is one of the company’s most modern and produces in a single assembly line the Jeeps Renegade, Commander and Compass, the Fiat Toro pickup, and the Ram Rampage.
The industrial pole in Pernambuco was started with a R$ 11 billion investment. It is a reference in a region with no automotive and industrial tradition at all, where the company invested in capacitation and installed a supplier park.
The local supply chain currently has 32 companies, 18 located in the same area as the plant. Ongoing negotiations aim to expand the number of suppliers in the region.
A 2018 R$ 7.5 billion investment plan supports the development of products, R&D, production processes and people capacitation. The investment also includes new hybrid and electric technologies to be produced in Goiana, such as the Bio-Hybrid platform just revealed by Stellantis.
The current capacity of the facility is 280 thousand vehicles a year. Its products supply the Brazilian market and other Latin American countries such as Argentina, Chile, Ecuador and Mexico. Since the plant’s inauguration, more than 200 thousand units have been shipped abroad.
