Celebrating ten years since it started operation in Brazil, DAF launched a special edition of the XF, limited to 120 numbered units. Different from the normal version, the commemorative edition values the driver’s comfort and well-being.
With a new feature package called Comfort+Xtra, the special series’ trucks carry leather upholstered steering wheel and seats, blackout and division curtains, multimedia central, pocket springs mattress, refrigerator and decorative items such as a red safety belt and a numbered plate.
The brand is launching two new colors with the series: Ocean Blue and Storm Grey. The trucks also carry side skirts, front spoiler, wheel frames and air spoilers. The aluminum wheels are fitted with Michelin tires. An extra amenities kit includes a leather travel bag, thermos, cup, towel, hygiene items and a cap.
DAF completes ten years with solid results. It was the only brand in the country that grew in the two truck categories it makes in Brazil.
While the semi-heavy sales decreased by 14.1% from January through August, DAF grew by 263% with 484 units sold, a performance pushed by the CF line launched last year. In heavy trucks, whose sales fell by 16% until August, the brand registered an 11% growth to 4.6 thousand trucks licensed.
DAF delivered 5.1 thousand units in the first eight months, 18.9% more than last year. The performance, almost 10% of the sales of trucks over 16 tons – 3% more than it had one year ago – has placed two models in the ten bestselling heavy trucks ranking: the XF 530 in second place, and the XF 480 as fourth.
