BMW already produces the C400 X scooter in Manaus

With a 350 cc engine, it is the third product of the brand launched in one year

The scooter market, which accounts for nearly 10% of motorcycle sales in Brazil, will soon have one more national competitor. BMW Motorrad’s first product for this segment, the C400 X, began manufacturing in Manaus, AM.

Presented in the first semester, the scooter still has no confirmed date to arrive at the dealers. BMW also did not reveal the price of the two versions to be initially offered, conventional and Sport, both equipped with a 350 cc 34 cv engine and CVT transmission.

The manufacturer just informed the model will carry equipment like automatic stability control, ABS, LED headlights and signal lights, Keyless start and USB entry. The Sport version will have a TFT panel and smartphone connectivity.

“The BMW C400 X launch is a turning point for BMW Motorrad in Brazil. It marks the brand’s return to the segment and our debut in the national production of this kind of bike”, celebrates Alex Donatti, BMW Group’s plant director.

Donatti commands the expansion of the product line assembled in Manaus and defined for the R$ 50 million investment cycle until 2025, announced one year ago.

The C400 X is this phase’s third model after the F] R roadster and the sporty S 1000 RR, which has been in production since March. For the next two years, four more launches are expected.

With the scooter, the Manaus plant already has ten models sharing the production line, which was improved to increase its capacity from 15 thousand to 17 thousand motorcycles a year with a 50% increase in constructed area to 15 thousand square meters. The company also plans to increase by 20% the workforce by 2025.
