With 187.8 thousand deliveries in September, the light vehicle market fell by nearly 5% compared to August, when about 197 thousand units were commercialized, according to data from an automotive retail source.

As August had 23 working days and September only 20, the daily sales average indicates a positive performance, with a high of almost 9% from 8.6 thousand to 9.3 thousand units. Compared to the same month last year, there was a slight 3% growth.

In the first nine months, automobile and light commercial vehicle sales reached about 1.54 million units, 10% more than in 2022, when 1.4 million units were licensed.

Pushed by the incentives of the government plan that offered discounts for models up to R$ 120 thousand, the best month so far was August, when 215.7 thousand units were sold. After this record, the market returned to a monthly level of under 200 thousand.

The internal market official data will be released this Tuesday, 10/3, by Fenabrave, which represents all dealer nets in Brazil. Considering the 10% sales increase until now, the organization could change the market forecast that estimated a tie with 2022 at the end of 2023.

On Friday, 10/6, Anfavea should release the industry’s September numbers, including production and export data.
