With the five best sellers in the month keeping the same order as year-to-date, the main change in September in the ranking of the best-selling models in Brazil was the return of the Renault Kwid to the top 10.

According to a retail source, the French brand’s compact sold nearly five thousand units to grab the tenth place last month. Year-to-date, the Hyundai Creta occupies the position.

In August, the Kwid was 17th – in May, it was not even among the 20 models with higher sales.

The Kwid entered the Top 10 in June and July, during the government’s incentive plan that favored sales of the most affordable models in the Brazilian market, especially the Kwid and the Fiat Mobi, both considered entry models.

The Strada leads Brazil’s best sellers ranking with 12.8 thousand registers in September and 86.6 thousand in the year. The VW Polo, Chevrolet Onix, Hyundai HB20 and Onix Plus complete the Top 5 list.

The other models with the most sales year-to-date are the Fiat Mobi, VW T-Cross, Fiat Argo, Chevrolet Tracker and Creta. The last one lost its place to the Kwid in September’s ranking.

In September, Fiat kept the brand’s lead with more than 43.2 thousand registers and a 23% share. Volkswagen was second with 29.8 thousand deliveries and 15.9%.

The next brands were GM (28 thousand and 14.9%), Hyundai (16.1 thousand and 8.6%) and Toyota (16 thousand and 8.5%).
