The Renault dealers are already receiving the new-generation Kangoo E-Tech with a larger capacity and range than the previous Kangoo Z.E, the first electric light commercial vehicles of the segment in the country, launched in 2013. Imported from France, it is offered in a single version with a suggested price of R$ 259.990.

The Kangoo E-Tech promises more agility in cargo collection and distribution. At the same time, it is presented as a support tool for companies’ decarbonization strategies and goals through fleets with reduced operational costs.

The Kangoo E-Tech is fitted with a 90 kW (120 cv), 25 kgfm motor. The lithium-ion battery capacity is 45 kWh, providing up to 300 km autonomy according to Inmetro’s mixed cycle.

The figures show a substantial evolution over the Kangoo Z.E’s. The previous model had a 44 kW (60 cv) 22.9 kgfm motor and a 33 kWh battery providing a 200 km range.

The new generation’s working power is also higher. The net cargo capacity now reaches 800 kg, versus 650 kg in the previous model. The cargo volume also increased from 3.6 m³ to 4.3 m³. The body maintains the sliding side doors and the rear doors opening by 180°.

More versatile, the Kangoo E-Tech can be charged with a 2.3 kW domestic outlet, 3.7 through 22 kW AC (public stations and wall boxes) and ultra-fast 80 kW DC stations. According to Renault, with an 11 kW wall box, the batteries can be charged up to 80% in 2h40.

The driver can choose among three regenerative braking modes according to the traffic conditions, from the most adequate to congested situations to the most convenient for highway use.
Electronic traction and stability control and hill assistant provide more safety, also improved by wider side mirrors and LED fog lights.

The model has height and deep adjusts for the driver seat and steering wheel. Other convenience features include a roof tray, various object holders, digital air-conditioning and an 8-inch multimedia touch screen. The media system is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible and can be activated by voice, enabling to receive and do calls using the steering wheel commands.

According to Renault, considering energy and fuel prices, the Kangoo E-Tech operation cost is R$ 0.15 per kilometer. With a similar combustion model, the value would be R$ 0.50. The brand also says the maintenance cost is 45% lower in the six first scheduled visits to the dealer shops.
