Stellantis revealed this Wednesday, 10/18, the Stellantis Pro One plan, aiming to improve and expand its presence in the commercial vehicle segment worldwide. The new strategy includes vans, pickups and services of six brands of the group – Citroën, Fiat, Opel, Peugeot, Ram and Vauxhall – in all continents.

The new strategy was presented at a news conference by Jean-Philippe Imparato, Stellantis’ Commercial Vehicle Unit’s world head, and foresees a huge electrified drive and connectivity growth in the next years to ensure decarbonization of operations and the fleet and cost reduction and increasing profitability for the customers, especially professionals.

Commercial vehicle businesses account for about 60 billion euros, one-third of Stellantis’ net revenue. The group sells annually about 1.6 million pickups and vans worldwide. This year, sales have already surpassed 1.1 million. Stellantis is the segment’s leader in Europe with a 31% share and South America with 28%.

If the Dare Forward strategic plan’s goals are accomplished, Stellantis will double the income from the segment by 2030 compared to 2021, and electric models should represent 40% of the sales and services income should reach 5 billion euros.

New lineups

The first concrete move to impact potential consumers will be revealed next week. On Monday, 10/23, Stellantis will unveil the renewed van lineup for each brand with zero-emission drive options – even hydrogen – full connectivity and a high level of drive assistance systems.

At the same time, Stellantis will renew its North American product lineup with the electrification of the next vans and pickups to be launched, among them the Ram ProMaster EV and the 2025 Ram 1500 REV.

“The renovation of all the van range based on second-generation electric offers and the electrification of four pickups from 2024 are at the Pro One core”, asserts Xavier Peugeot, vice president of the commercial vehicles division.

Retrofit

Besides new products and technologies, Stellantis is committed to improving and expanding services like dedicated cargo solutions and wallbox offers from the division Free2Move eSolution, to create financial solutions specific to the segment and have all its new vans and pickups connected by the end of 2023 and able to receive over-the-air updates in 2026.

Stellantis also promises not to leave the current owners of its pickups and vans. To achieve this, it is elaborating a program with Qinomic, a French mobility technology company, to convert combustion light commercial vehicles to electric drive. The manufacturer will warrant the retrofit, and the initiative aims to extend the existing fleets’ lifespan.
