Preceding next week’s launch, Stellantis released information about the tests performed with the Citroën C3 Aircross in South America.
The first compact SUV made in Brazil with a version for up to seven passengers will reach the French brand dealer net next month. Information about prices and versions will be disclosed at the launch, but the brand already anticipated that there will be more than ten bicolor options.
According to Stellantis, prototypes rode more than “Earth-to-Moon distance” before the SUV was approved to be sold in the region. There were more than a million kilometers of testing in different places, including high temperatures, low humidity, intense cold and different altitudes.
The tests, which started on computer using softwares to simulate different ride conditions, were supported by a team of more than 350 people.
The SUV will be produced at the Porto Real Industrial Pole in Rio de Janeiro, where the new C4 Cactus and C3 SUVs are already made.
“This synergy enables a high rate of localization of the models since their launch and makes the product more affordable, at the same time it strengthens the automotive industry in Brazil and South America”, informs the Stellantis’ press release.
