The agricultural and road machines sector maintains its positive performance in Brazil. 21.7 thousand road machines were commercialized this year from January through July, a 36.6% increase over the same period last year and a record volume in all sector’s history.
After more than one year without releasing official numbers of the affiliated machine manufacturers, Anfavea showed the internal sales balances again at the press conference when August figures were released on Friday, September 9. Without a defined date yet, production and export numbers shall be released in the future.
In the agricultural machinery market, which includes tractors, harvesters and others, 37.2 thousand units were sold – an expansion of 21.3% regarding the first seven months of 2021.
Alexandre Bernardes, responsible for Anfavea’s machines area, said that the segment’s positive performance in the road segment is due to bids and auctions done over the last years, as well as the sanitation framework, which has just completed two years.
“Most are backhoes and other machines used in infrastructure works, which are being resumed gradually”, commented the executive. The excellent moment of the Brazilian agribusiness also favors the machine manufacturers’ business.
He also commented that Brazil is on the way to one more record harvest of 200 million tons of grain for 2023-2024, indicating that the segment shall keep growing in the next years.
