With direct sales around 50% and retail promotions offering zero-interest and longer-term financing to attract common consumers, the light vehicle market showed a slight recovery in the first half of May. In the period, 76,779 units were sold, 3% more than the 74,682 delivered in the same period one month before.
Compared to the same period in 2022, the growth was 3.3%. This month’s daily average sales so far is 7,678 units, more than the 7,468 registered in April.
Despite this slight reaction, dealers still admit businesses are weak. Besides financing difficulties, high interest is making consumers delay purchases. Chevrolet dealers are giving a R$ 20 thousand bonus for purchasers of the S-10 pickup, and, even so, there are products in inventory.
Zero-interest financing is also offered for the Frontier Attack and Fiat Fastback for 12-month financing. The Nissan Attack At 4×2 22/23 pickup is offered at the brand’s website with an up to R$ 35 thousand discount – the price was reduced from R$ 275,790 to R$ 240,790 – all products for prompt delivery.
Peugeot announced this Tuesday, 5/16, that the dealer net will offer, until this Sunday, 5/21, a series of “unmissable sales conditions” for its brand-new models.
The 208 Like 23/23 with 1.0 Firefly engine and manual transmission is offered from R$ 69,990 with a downpayment and 72 stalls. Such a large term wasn’t seen for a long time, as this kind of action took to high default indexes in the past. The French brand also offers zero-tax financing for 24 months for all other 208 versions and the Peugeot 2008 range.
