Apolo Tecnologia em Polímeros, a Marcopolo’s company, inaugurated its factory in Farroupilha, RS. With investments of R$ 24 million and a 5 thousand square-meter area, the plant expands the company’s capacity to develop, produce and supply plastic parts and graphene products able to replace steel items.
“We present a cuting-edge plant ready to meet the demand for high-performance solutions with competitive prices”, said André Castilhos, Apolo’s executive director. “We develop customized projects for diveres arket sectors, such as automotive companies, agriculture machines and surgical equipment.”
With automated equipment, the company can produce up to 300 tons of plastic parts a month. It also offers a 20% reduction in delivery time compared to conventional equipment produced parts, as well as 30% less energy consumption.
The plant conception has also considered socio-environmental aspects. 60% of the employees are female, the production line noise is below 55 decibels, rain water is recuperated, solar energy feeds the facilities and the internal office structure uses plastic-residue bricks.
“We based on sustainability concept to structure our facilities”, said Castilhos. “We thought from industrial residue recovery though toxic components-free solutions. More than our products’ quality, we want to be known by our environmental initiatives.”
